Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker announced this week that former Heller Ehrman partner Michael Cohen has joined the firm's antitrust and competition practice.
Cohen, whose clients include Del Monte Foods, Symantec software, and Western Refining, says the move will allow him to take advantage of Paul Hasting's international antitrust platform.
"The practice of antitrust law has become much more globalized. It's no longer enough to serve clients in the United States alone when client needs run the gamut in a number of countries," Cohen says.
The addition of Cohen to the firm is part of Paul Hasting's effort to deepen its bench in a number of practice areas, says Barbara Brown, chair of the firm's Washington office.
"We've had eight senior hires in the past year in a variety of areas, and we're looking to build and strengthen our office further," Brown says. "Cohen is a superb lawyer in across the board, and he is one of the few antitrust lawyers who is not afraid to step into a trial. He is a fantastic addition to our office."
