A team from Davis Polk & Wardwell has been lead outside counsel to both the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department in connection with the ongoing financial crisis at embattled insurance giant AIG, a firm spokesman says.
The Fed turned to New York-based partners Bradley Smith, Marshall Huebner, Donald Bernstein, Robert Heckart, and Ethan James. None of the lawyers were immediately able to comment, the spokesman says.
