Chief Justice to Judge Moot Court Competition

Chief Justice John Roberts Jr. apparently doesn’t just judge cases in the Supreme Court.

On Sept. 5, the chief will travel down to Gainesville, Fla., to participate in the Justice Campbell Thornal Moot Court Final Four competition at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Roberts will be joined by Judges Peter Fay, Susan Black, and Rosemary Barkett, all of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Charles Roberson, a third-year law student and president of Florida's Moot Court Executive Board, said in a statement that in years past, the competition would be “lucky to get one judge from the 11th Circuit.” Roberson added it was the most prestigious bench the competition has ever had.
