Settled: NBC has reached a settlement with the family of a Texas state prosecutor who killed himself in 2006 when confronted by cameras for an episode of "To Catch a Predator," The New York Times reports. The family of Louis W. Conradt Jr. had filed a $105 million lawsuit, but NBC refused to divulge the payout.
Pleading: Former Deputy Attorney General Larry Thompson, general counsel at PepsiCo, tried to intercede on behalf of a notorious Georgia death-row inmate who was executed earlier this month, according to the Fulton County Daily Report via Law.com.
No Way: The U.S Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit has rejected appeals from media baron Conrad Black and three other executives at Hollinger International and instead upheld their fraud and obstruction of justice convictions, The Associated Press reports.
