Legal Times' Supreme Court Event

A little shameless promotion here: Our very own Tony Mauro and a panel of attorneys involved in some of the year's biggest cases will be analyzing the Supreme Court's latest term (which ends this week) at Georgetown University Law Center on July 9. "Sizing Up The 2007-08 Supreme Court Term: A Practitioner's View" will be held at Hart Auditorium, 600 New Jersey Avenue, NW, in Washington, D.C.

The panelists are: former Texas Solicitor General R. Ted Cruz (now a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius); Walter Dellinger, chair of the appellate practice at O'Melveny & Myers (and a former acting U.S. solicitor general); Patricia Millett, co-head of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld's Supreme Court practice (an ex-assistant to the SG); and Malcolm Stewart, a current assistant solicitor general of the United States.

This is always one of the liveliest panels of the year on the Court: Tony & Co. analyze the just-ended term, prognosticate a bit about the term ahead, and also give a practical guide on how cases were handled by the lawyers — from briefs to argument.

Tickets are $35 per person; $30 for groups of 10 or more. To purchase tickets, call 202-828-0319 or email LTevents@alm.com. Large group ticket purchases can also be made here (click the "events" tab). This year, the event is sponsored by Thomson-West and Akin Gump.

We hope you'll join us.
