The American Antitrust Institute is celebrating its 10th birthday this week.
The fete, Wednesday and Thursday at the National Press Club, will bring together some of the nation's top antitrust practitioners and government attorneys.
Aside from tackling the future of antitrust policies at the Justice Department's Antitrust Division and the Federal Trade Commission, organizers say, the institute's annual conference will also feature the recognition of two distinguished antitrust lawyers.
On Wednesday, Bernard Hollander, a senior trial attorney in the Antitrust Division, will receive the Civil Servant Award based on his 58 years of service with the division. On Thursday, Morgan Lewis' John Shenefield -- himself a former high-ranking Justice official -- will be honored with the Antitrust Achievement Award.
A variety of panels will address the merits of merger enforcement, monopolization, media consolidation, buyer power, among other topics. For a schedule of the AAI's conference, click here.
