The American Lawyer in Baghdad
This week, The American Lawyer’s Ben Hallman has been reporting from Baghdad, where he is embedded with the Baghdad Provincial Reconstruction Team. Though venturing into Iraq is a bit of a departure for legal affairs reporters (“The closest I've been to danger was when I got stuck for a few seconds in the elevator at Skadden Arps in Times Square,” admits Ben in his first post), the development of a civil justice system there certainly warrants the attention of the American legal community. After all, an estimated 25,000 lawyers are working in Iraq to establish rule of law.
Ben is scheduled to spend today at the U.S. Embassy. You can keep up with his posts here.
