Bracewell Snags Bruce
Bracewell & Giuliani has hired a top Washington litigator as a new partner in its white-collar defense practice. Carol Elder Bruce has joined the firm’s D.C. office from Venable where she was also a partner.
Bruce is a former assistant U.S. attorney for D.C. and was named independent prosecutor in 1998 of the investigation of Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt. In private practice, Bruce represents companies and individuals in criminal and civil investigations as well as in Congressional hearings.
“The depth and breadth of Carol’s experience and the results that she has obtained for her clients is matched by very few defense lawyers in the D.C. area,” says Marc Mukasey, the head of the firm’s white-collar practice and also the son of Attorney General Michael Mukasey.
