Word out New York today that a group of cabbies has gone on strike to protest the placement of GPS tracking devices in their cabs. Some reports place the number of striking hacks at around 7,000. Anecdotal observations (friends late for work or on the shuttle this morning) indicate that the number of cabs in midtown looks fairly normal, but the lines at the airport are long. Might want to reserve that Town Car early if you're headed north.
