Bad News for Uncle Ted
The Anchorage Daily News is reporting that Bill Allen, the bribery-prone former chief of Alaskan oils services and construction giant VECO, just copped in court to providing months of free labor, possibly some materials, and furniture during the renovation of Senator Ted Stevens' Alaskan home.
VECO has already gone down in a bribery-for-contracts scandal, taking a number of state legislators with it. But Stevens, the dean of Alaskan politics, has denied receiving gifts from the company, telling reporters that he paid every bill he was given.
