The House Judiciary Committee has voted contempt of Congress citations against White House chief of staff Joshua Bolten and Harriet Miers, the president's former legal counsel and a one-time Supreme Court nominee.
If the full House approves the citations, both would be censored for failing to comply with subpoenas issued as part of the committee's review of the firings of several prosecutors by the Justice Department. Republicans have said that such citations won't be upheld in federal court.
