Just as election season is getting underway, the Federal Election Committee has settled on Thomasenia “Tommie” Duncan as its general counsel. Duncan had been serving as acting general counsel since February 2007 when Lawrence Norton jumped to Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, along with former FEC deputy general counsel James Kahl. “We’re very happy to announce that Tommie has agreed to serve as General Counsel,” said Commission Chairman Robert Lenhard. “We are confident that she has the legal skills and leadership abilities needed to help lead this agency.”
Prior to joining the FEC in February 2004, Duncan was general counsel for America’s Promise — The Alliance for Youth.
