Arnold & Porter to $160K
Arnold & Porter raised starting salaries for first-year associates to $160,000, firm chair Thomas Milch told the BLT. The firm announced the pay hike today, which applies to associates in its Washington, San Francisco, Los Angeles, NoVa and Denver offices. A&P became the second D.C. heavyweight to raise starting salaries this week following WilmerHale's move on Tuesday.
"We want to be competitive in the markets in which we operate," Milch says, noting though that no single factor led the firm to make the move now.
A&P's pay hike is effective June 1.
