Venable continued its streak of picking off public servants today adding Derick Berlage, who was most recently chairman of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission. Berlage, 50, joins as a partner in the state and local government practice group. He will be working out of the firm’s Rockville, Md. office. Berlage expects to focus his attention on public-private sector partnerships. The addition comes after the firm recently picked up Claude Bailey, former general counsel to the D.C. Sports & Entertainment Commission.
