According to a South Korean news article, there seems to be Jack Abramoff copycats around the globe. The Hankyoreh newspaper reports that prosecutors in Seoul raided the office of the Korean Medical Association, a large lobbying group for medical doctors, after the president of the group admitted to other leadership members that he regularly gave cash to and bought gifts for Korean legislators to influence legislation. The lobbyist said he handed over millions of dollars to Korean lawmakers. A Korean public television program got a hold of a transcript of the meeting, where Jhang Dong-ik also admitted to buying drinks for government officials and paying for their golf outings, and aired the lobbyist's dirty laundry.
