The Politico takes a hard look at Rudy Giuliani's judicial appointments during his time as mayor of New York City and finds that the folks appointed to three of New York's lowest courts are "hardly in the model of Chief Justice John Roberts or Samuel Alito -- much less aggressive conservatives in the mold of Antonin Scalia." One of his appointees, according to the article, is even a member of the International Association of Lesbian and Gay Judges. The BLT isn't too surprised that there aren't many Alito-types in the famously-left New York City bar, and wonders whether Republican primary voters will really care about the political-leanings of judges who rule on matters like illegal liquor sales and small-stakes financial disputes.
Over at right-leaning Confirmthem.com, poster Matthew Friendly says "there is almost nothing to infer from Giuliani's NYC judicial appointments."
